1099-NEC Generation
Automatic generation and distribution of 1099-NEC forms for affiliates who earned $600 or more.
Overview
The IRS requires businesses to file Form 1099-NEC for each person to whom they paid at least $600 during the year for services performed as a non-employee. This includes affiliate commissions.

Automatic Generation
The system automatically generates 1099-NEC forms on January 15th each year for the previous tax year. This gives you time to review before the January 31st deadline.
Generation Process
Identify Eligible Affiliates
System scans all affiliates who earned $600+ in paid commissions during the tax year.
Verify W-9 Status
Only affiliates with an approved W-9 form on file will have 1099s generated. Affiliates without W-9s are flagged for manual follow-up.
Calculate Total Payments
Sum of all paid commissions for each affiliate during the calendar year.
Generate PDF Forms
1099-NEC PDFs are generated with all required information populated.
Notify Affiliates
Affiliates receive an email notification that their 1099 is ready to download.
Scheduled Job: The 1099 generation job runs automatically on January 15th at midnight (UTC). Administrators can also trigger manual generation if needed.

Accessing Your 1099
Check Your Email
When your 1099 is ready, you'll receive an email notification with a link to the Tax Center.
Log In to Portal
Access your affiliate portal and navigate to Tax Center.
View Tax Documents
Your 1099-NEC forms are listed under the Tax Documents section.
Download PDF
Click the download button to save a PDF copy of your 1099-NEC.
1099-NEC Information
Your 1099-NEC will include:
- Box 1 - Nonemployee Compensation: Total commissions paid to you
- Your Information: Name, address, and TIN from your W-9
- Payer Information: Company name, address, and EIN
Keep for your records: Use the information on your 1099-NEC when filing your federal and state tax returns. The IRS receives a copy of this form.

Managing 1099 Generation
Review Eligibility Report
Before generation, review the list of affiliates who will receive 1099s. Navigate to Tax Management → 1099 Preview.
Resolve Missing W-9s
Identify affiliates who earned $600+ but don't have approved W-9 forms. Send reminders or reach out directly.
Verify Payer Information
Ensure your company's tax information (EIN, legal name, address) is correct in Settings → Tax Configuration.
Generate 1099s
Run the generation job manually or wait for automatic generation on January 15th.
Review & Distribute
Review generated forms and trigger distribution emails to affiliates.

IRS Filing Requirements
Important: This system generates 1099 forms for your records and for affiliates. You are responsible for filing with the IRS through their FIRE system or authorized e-file provider.
Key Deadlines
- January 31: Recipient copy must be furnished to affiliates
- January 31: File with IRS (paper or electronic)
