Moving to Scale ($179/mo) unlocks automated payouts, but that requires Trolley — a separate paid service at $49/mo (Standard Pay) or $149/mo (Standard Tax, which adds W-9/W-8BEN collection). The real cost of Tapfiliate with automated payouts and tax compliance runs $228–328/mo. AFFY includes all of this on plans starting at €79/mo, with no click overage fees.
Both platforms integrate with Stripe via webhooks and support subscription renewal commissions. AFFY adds native Paddle and Chargebee webhook tracking — handling recurring billing, refunds, and disputes from each processor automatically. Tapfiliate does not have native webhook-based Chargebee integration. If you use Paddle for EU VAT compliance or Chargebee for subscription management, AFFY is the only option with a native integration path.
AFFY integrates directly with PayPal Mass Payouts — approve commissions and pay all affiliates in one click, with no add-on. Tapfiliate routes automated payouts through Trolley, a third-party service that costs $49–149/mo extra. Critically, EU merchants cannot use Trolley's PayPal automated payouts due to EU licensing restrictions — they must export to CSV or use bank transfer. AFFY has no such restriction. W-9/W-8BEN collection, self-billing PDF invoices, and automatic tax withholding are all included in AFFY natively. Tapfiliate requires Trolley for all of these.
AFFY ships a built-in GDPR self-service portal that gives affiliates the ability to export their data, submit erasure requests through a two-step confirmation flow, and manage consent. Tracking via AffyJS integrates with CookieYes, OneTrust, and Cookiebot — tracking only fires after consent is granted. Tapfiliate has no equivalent affiliate-facing GDPR self-service portal, and its tracking does not integrate with consent management platforms.
AFFY ships a native Telegram bot that sends real-time notifications for new affiliate applications — with inline Approve and Reject buttons — new conversions, and payout confirmations. You can manage your affiliate program from your phone without opening the dashboard. No other affiliate software has this.
